The Last Goodbye Act I - Gangsters and Thugs
The Last Goodbye is a pulp thriller running on the Goldsource engine. In the Gothic metropolis of Prava, the gun-for-hire Lucille - better known on the streets as The Banshee - takes a job from enigmatic entrepreneur Ark McLean. Her target: Bullseye, the deadliest gangster in town. On her travels through the criminal underworld she meets all manner of friends and foes, with plenty of action and intrigue along the way.
The main obstacles in The Banshee's way are the hired guns and heavies under Franz Jaegar's command. Armed with pistols, submachine guns, shotguns and even dynamite, they patrol in search for her whilst Jaegar tries to escape. Much like with the Tramps and Workers, each Gangster variant was given four distinct material groups in order to bolster the visual variety. It was important to establish distinct colour schemes so the player could pick them out through the fog and darkness during a fight. The designs for the Thugs were inspired by the 1999 shooter Kingpin Life of Crime.
